Spending almost 6 months living in hannover in Germany, I encountered many punks- living on the streets as a lifestyle choice, rebelling against the values of their parents.

What was started in a shop called Sex 35 years ago, still lives today.

But maybe just not quite as outspoken as it once was.

I'm no eBay junkie (yet), but scrolling through these pages looking at what can be created with an environmental mindset is a great way to procrastinate while claiming it as 'research'.

Pleats Plisse

Issey Miyake created a most fantastic collection entitled Pleats Plisse, which, as you can guess from the name, offered a study on pleats.

When I was in the mountains of China, I bought a pleated skirt from the Yao minority group that has lived there for centuries.

But pleats have existed even longer than that. Last week I found some that mother nature folded herself, a synthesis of the life associated with water and the platform created through the death of a tree.

Roller Derby hasn't been on TV in years, but after flicking through some YouTube clips, I have no idea why. There's action, suspense, tactic, destruction, athleticism, and best of all a sense of sexy fun.

I love how the girls dress up in their 50s inspired glam, short fringes, fish net tights, personalised names blazened across their backs. And they aren't afraid to get a little hurt.

Mr. Easter Chook

Chickens and rabbits come together at one time of the year.

I have already mentioned the Easter Bunny, and so today I tell the story of the Easter Chook.

Wouldn't it be great if chickens laid colourful eggs?

But alas they do not, and so, as part of Orthodox Easter traditions that have existed in my house for as long as I can remember, we dye them ourselves.

Some years I get creative and do resists with leaves and other things.

This year I kept it simple.

And dyed not only the eggs, but my kitchen and hands as well.

(Food friendly and environmentally friendly dyes, so don't worry about what I'm sending down the drain!)

Dear Mr. Easter Bunny

This is how one of the kids I teach sees the yearly calendar.
("I have an Easter Bunny to give you!!!" came from the same child's mouth. Favourite student?!)
