HAPPY WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY!

For the past 10 years, on June 5th, World Environment day has been celebrated as an initiative of the United Nations to focus attention on the environment as well as to honour businesses and programmes that consider their sustainability.
The main issues addressed of World Environment Day include:
  • Give a human face to environmental issues;
  • Empower people to become active agents of sustainable and equitable development;
  • Promote an understanding that communities are pivotal to changing attitudes towards environmental issues;
  • Advocate partnership which will ensure all nations and peoples enjoy a safer and more prosperous future.

Open over the World Envirnoment Day period in Rome, to raise awareness about the pollution on Europe's beaches, is a hotel made from trash. All the 12 tonnes of rubbish covering the 5 rooms and reception has been taken from beaches around the world.
